G-map, a WordPress plugin to display Google maps

September 9th, 2006 ericdes

Would you like to display a Google map like this one within your posts or pages?

It’s really easy with this plugin. Activate G-map, enter your Google Maps API key (get it from there: http://www.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html), add a new address. The Google magic should return the latitude and longitude of your spot: copy / paste and save.

Call your map with this code:

[MAP: %your map name%]

Et voilĂ !

Plugin available for free (GPL license) from this link:
G-map 1.0-beta (tgz)
G-map 1.0-beta (zip)

    Here I am again ; )
People here share the same problem with k2 and google maps:
    http://www.cyberhobo.net/downloads/geo-mashup-plugin
Look in the comments, it seems to be related to k2’s css selectors.
Do you suggest to hack k2 or maybe there’s a workaround for this?

It seems the incompatibility is with the K2 theme. Mine is version 0.91.

    Audio player
    ajaxContact
    Breadcrumb Navigation XT
    Google Analytics
    G-map
    Hemingway Flickr
    Lightbox 2 Plugin
    WPvideo

Try to desactivate each of your plugins one by one and see if it helps.

Maybe it’s not the case. I tried to delete every js reference from the header but the problem is still there. Anyway every js used come with the K2 theme, except Nifty Corners which i used to style some rounded divs

Looks like the G-Map plugin did its job. But there are many javascript scripts on your page that might interfere. I developped the plugin under Firefox actually. You might have another script that is not compatible with Firefox.

Mhmhmh, it seems explorer can see the map, even with some css issue in the interface. Problem is i’m just optimizing for firefox, explorer will come next…

Andrea, that’s good news. Because if the map displays okay in the administration area, then you’re only a inch away from viewing it a post. Are you sure your syntax [MAP…..] to call the map within your post is correct. Could you send me the content of your post?

Hi, Thank you very much for your wonderful plugin, but it’s only half ok… I can view my maps in the configuration area, but not in my posts. It displays only the empty google maps interface. Can you help me please?
