G-map, a WordPress plugin to display Google maps

September 9th, 2006 ericdes

Would you like to display a Google map like this one within your posts or pages?

It’s really easy with this plugin. Activate G-map, enter your Google Maps API key (get it from there: http://www.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html), add a new address. The Google magic should return the latitude and longitude of your spot: copy / paste and save.

Call your map with this code:

[MAP: %your map name%]

Et voilĂ !

Plugin available for free (GPL license) from this link:
G-map 1.0-beta (tgz)
G-map 1.0-beta (zip)

    Hi…

I had several problems with PRECISION of the float latitude and longitude with your plugin.

After that, I recognized that in my godaddy hosting, with mysql 5, the float was every time truncated by 4 decimals.

I changed the latitude and longitude to “var char 20″ and that’s it.

Now I would like to choose the zoom because like that it’s too far (I need to display where is a shop not the eiffel tower).

Would it be possible to modify the code to allow multiple locations on each map?

    sorry for my stupid question….
    another stupid question…!
this text is at the top when i publish the map:
    “‘; doc += ”; doc += ‘ [’ + title + ‘] ‘; doc += ‘ ‘; winimg.document.writeln(doc); winimg.document.close(); } //]]>”
you can see on my test blog…

    thanks a lot!

    Ok, I found it…
In K2, removing the .primary .item .itemtext div and .primary img selectors fixes the Google map.
    Hope this helps!
